Transparency that Includes and Transforms
Catamor is a project conceived by Creators by Truth and Vtor Social. It's more than a recycling project. It's an innovative social inclusion and environmental education movement that promotes transparency in a previously invisible system. Waste pickers, often marginalized, now have their work recognized thanks to a design designed to dignify and value their essential role in the circular economy.
One of the project's ideas is to eliminate black bags, which hide recyclable waste and make sorting difficult. In their place, translucent bags made from cassava ensure that recyclable materials, especially aluminum cans, are visible, allowing collectors to be identified as workers and no longer mistaken for people rummaging through trash. This simple yet revolutionary change brings dignity, efficiency, and environmental awareness.
To reinforce this concept, we created a series of products, such as carts and tricycles with visible buckets built into grids, promoting the same transparency in the transportation of recyclables throughout cities. This solution not only facilitates the collection and separation of materials, but also visually communicates the importance of recycling and social inclusion, raising awareness among society to take a new approach to waste pickers.
Catamor not only improves recycling logistics but also creates a profound social impact. By giving visibility to waste pickers, we educate society about their importance and encourage proper waste separation. The project fuses design and social impact, proving that creative solutions can transform realities and create a more sustainable and humane world.

Waste is not garbage.
It's life.
